Administration

Our Administration team provides administrative support to all departments within the Informed Medical Decisions Foundation, as well as our Board of Directors, Medical Editors and Clinical Advisors. The team oversees the daily business activities of the Foundation, including financial management and reporting, intra-office projects and technology support.

Michael J. Barry, MD President

Michael J. Barry, MD
Michael became president of the Informed Medical Decisions Foundation in 2009, but has been involved with the Foundation since it’s beginning and previously served as chief medical editor. He is a past president of the Society for Medical Decision Making (SMDM) and the Society of General Internal Medicine. Michael has led many prominent research studies including the Prostate PORT-II. His research interests have included: defining the outcomes of different strategies for the evaluation and treatment of prostate disease, decision analysis, health status measurement, clinical quality improvement and the use of decision aids to facilitate patients' participation in decision making. Michael continues to practice primary care and serves as medical director of the John D. Stoeckle Center for Primary Care Innovation at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is also a clinical professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and a member of the American College of Physicians. Michael holds an MD from the University of Connecticut Health Center, and completed his residency at Strong Memorial Hospital and his fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Christine M. Fisler Chief Financial and Operating Officer

Christine M. Fisler
Chris is responsible for financial management and oversight of business activities, along with the enhancement of internal organizational processes and infrastructure that will allow for the Foundation to continue to grow and fulfill its mission. Prior to joining the Foundation, she acquired many years of experience in both finance and operations. Most recently, she worked as the controller for Dalbar, Inc., a financial services research firm, and as director of finance and operations for Stackpole & Partners, an advertising agency. Chris holds a BS in business administration from Endicott College.

Vicki Mentink Finance and Administration Manager

Vicki is in charge of bookkeeping and financial reporting for the Foundation. In addition, she is also responsible for human resources and administration operations of the office. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked for ten years in administration and accounting for various departments of the city of Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Her experience included five years with the police department where she was responsible for maintaining police records and statistical reporting.

Sophy Leng Accounting Assistant

Sophy assists with the day-to-day operations of the Foundation as well as working with the finance department. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked at Massachusetts General Hospital for eight years in various departments. Her previous work experience also includes three years with the Marblehead Visiting Nurse Association where she assisted the CFO and CEO in finance and budget reporting. She holds an Associate Degree in accounting from Burdett College.

Jessica Rawlins Executive Assistant

Jessica Rawlins
Jessica assists the president and chief financial officer, coordinates intra-office projects, and manages and organizes company events. Prior to joining the Foundation, she spent a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Boston. In this capacity she tutored school children at an inner city school where she gained valuable and rewarding insight into the social, health, and educational problems in this country. She holds a BA in English literature and a minor in creative writing from George Washington University.
