Understanding the Experience of Early Stage Breast Cancer Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment among Jordanian Women

Purpose

To understand the experience of being diagnosed with and undergoing surgical treatment for early stage breast cancer among Jordanian women. Study specific aims are to: 1) gain an understanding of women’s knowledge of breast cancer treatment and how their treatment awareness has been informed; 2) explore women’s awareness of their right to be informed and involved in their own medical care; 3) explore women’s preferences for involvement; and 4) identify the extent to which these women perceived they had surgical treatment options.
