"Health Dialog has worked with the Informed Medical Decisions Foundation, another source of funding for Dartmouth's work around shared decision-making. Dr. Goldbach said the smaller practices funded by the foundation have had less than uniform success compared with the larger institutions adopting a formal shared decision-making program, but researchers are trying to get a better understanding of what works for smaller practices."Read the full story.

Breast Cancer Initiative
The Breast Cancer Initiative (BCI) was designed to promote the dissemination and implementation of breast cancer decision aids across a range of clinical settings, and to learn about the factors associated with continued use of decision aids in routine medical care. Through a joint effort with Health Dialog established in 2002, the Foundation funds this initiative to support shared decision making (SDM) in breast cancer centers across the United States.
